Fawn Lake Loop, DuPont State Recreational Forest – August 7, 2026

Despite the power company applying loads of herbicide and the park maintenance workers mowing the roadside edges, we still managed to find most of our favorite plants – albeit in different locations AND we escaped the usual afternoon thunderstorm!

Information on the history of DuPont State Recreational Forest can be found here.

Photography by Carrie Blair, Charlie Brice, Cindy Carpenter, Penny Longhurst, Jim Poling, Michelle Reeder, & Rae Ann Wessel. Plants that are non-native to North America are indicated by an asterisk (*) placed after the species name. Click on any picture to zoom & enter the slide show.
